On February 22nd , 2009, at 0107 hours Engine 32, Truck 16 were dispatched 1st due on the box to an apartment fire with people trapped at 3407 Stanton Road. Engine 32 and Truck 16 just happened to be 2 blocks away at Stanton Road and Alabama Avenue returning from another box alarm. Engine 32 and Truck 16 arrived simultaneously to find smoke showing on the top floor of a 3 story apartment building with one female on the ground having jumped from that apartment. Engine 32 pulled a 400' 1 1/2" line and entered through the apartment door Truck 16 had forced open and extinguished the fire. While this was going on the remainder of Truck 16's crew were busy raising the 24', 30' and 35' ladders to side A and cutting off utilities. Ambulance 32 was attending to the patient with the assistance of Truck 16's and Rescue Squad 3's technicians while the technician from Engine 32 was supplying O2 to a puppy found in the apartment. The box was then held to 1 & 1. Box Alarm Engines 32,15,33,7 & 8, Trucks 16 & 8, Battalion Chiefs 3 & 2, Rescue Squad 3 and Ambulance 32.
